About us

Job responsibilities

Lead Pharmacist – Governance (Fixed‑Term Contract). You will serve as the Governance Lead for the London Clinic Pharmacy and the Medication Safety Officer (MSO), providing strategic oversight of all governance activity and ensuring robust medication safety, compliance and quality improvement across pharmacy services. The role is based in Central London (W1G 7L) and offers a band 8a salary, a contributory pension scheme, private medical healthcare, 33 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a season ticket travel loan, and extensive career development opportunities.

  • Act as the Medication Safety Officer (MSO) for the London Clinic
  • Lead and oversee clinical audit programmes
  • Manage incident response and lead root‑cause analyses (RCA) for pharmacy‑related events
  • Represent pharmacy at safety governance committees and quality meetings
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and policy development
  • Ensure compliance with clinical effectiveness standards (NICE, CQC, accreditations)
  • Oversee risk management activities
  • Lead pharmacy preparation for CQC inspections
  • Minimum 5 years post‑registration hospital pharmacy experience
  • Comprehensive clinical hospital rotations across multiple specialities
  • Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience supporting audits, implementing service improvements and managing associated risk
  • Experience in medicines information and mentoring pharmacy staff
  • Experience developing and writing policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Master’s degree in Pharmacy
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy
  • GPhC registration with ongoing CPD to maintain fitness to practice
