A cutting-edge energy company in the UK seeks a Lead IT Operations Manager to centralize IT operations and build scalable onboarding systems. The role demands strong experience in IT management, IAM, and device lifecycle management, with an emphasis on automation and compliance readiness. The ideal candidate will effectively support a global workforce, manage device operations, and enhance security processes. This position offers flexibility, competitive salary, and a chance to contribute to transformative energy solutions.
We have built the new way for energy to be transacted.
tem exists to fix a creaking energy market. Today's wholesale system is stacked in favour of the few - a relic of the oil and gas era, riddled with markups and middlemen. We're changing that.
Our product, RED™, is built on a proprietary pricing engine that bypasses the wholesale market, enabling businesses to buy energy produced by renewable generators directly. That means clear, auditable transactions that ensure affordable bills and fair compensation - giving every business real ownership and control over where their energy comes from.
Since launching in 2021, we've saved UK businesses and generators over £25 million, powering a growing network of forward-thinking companies, from Pizza Pilgrims to Silverstone.
Backed by top-tier VCs including Atomico and Albion, we're creating a new category in energy - one that's decentralised, direct, and built on trust.
We’re hiring a Lead IT Operations Manager to take end-to-end ownership of corporate IT as we scale. Today, access, hardware, and compliance tooling are fragmented across the team; this role centralises ownership and builds scalable systems so onboarding/offboarding is fast, device/access hygiene is strong, and our tooling delivers ROI.
You’ll own IAM, device & asset operations, with a strong bias toward automation and repeatable workflows, and enough compliance/security depth to keep us audit-ready. You’ll support a global workforce and help set up a model where tier-1 support can be outsourced over time while you stay focused on systems and escalations.
Access management: Own joiner/mover/leaver workflows, RBAC, approvals/SLAs, and audit trails across all key systems; maintain Google Workspace architecture (org units/policies) as we expand internationally.
Device + asset lifecycle: Procure, configure, track, refresh, retrieve, and securely dispose of hardware; run global logistics and ensure MDM/security baselines are enforced.
Automation + self-serve: Build and maintain HRIS→IT integrations and request workflows (access, hardware, resets), plus lightweight documentation/KB to reduce interruptions.
Security + compliance readiness: Operate corporate IT controls using Vanta and JumpCloud (device compliance, access logging, evidence), support vendor/security reviews, and keep policies/documentation audit-ready.
Operational reporting: Track core IT metrics (onboarding time, SLA performance, device compliance, inventory/spend) and continuously improve reliability and speed.
Must-haves
Extensive experience in IT operations / IT management in a startup or scaling environment.
Strong hands-on experience with IAM and directory tooling (JumpCloud/Okta equivalents) and access lifecycle best practices.
Experience with MDM / endpoint management, device security baselines, and remote support.
Automation/process mindset: can design workflows, document clearly, and reduce manual work through integrations.
Comfortable supporting a distributed/global workforce (logistics, vendors, time zones, jurisdiction constraints).
Strong cross-functional communication with Ops, People, Security, and Engineering.
Nice-to-haves
Direct experience with Google Workspace, Rippling, JumpCloud, Vanta, as well as hardware vendors Apple, lenovo, Tequipy
Workflow automation tooling (e.g. n8n) and basic scripting (Python/PowerShell/Bash).
Exposure to SOC 2 / ISO 27001 / GDPR controls and evidence collection.
Competitive salary - our current band for this role is £82,800 or equivalent in local currency.
We review salaries twice a year using real-time market data, with transparent, consistent pay for the same role and level.
Stock Options - everyone on the team has ownership in our mission.
25 days holiday + public holidays - Swap public holidays for ones that matter most to you. Plus, get an extra day off for your birthday 🎉.
Remote & flexible working - We’re fully remote, distributed across Europe with clear core hours, and no internal meetings on Friday afternoons.
Home working & wellbeing budgets:
Up to £1,200 / €1,200 annually to upgrade your remote setup (co-working passes, equipment, etc.).
Up to £150 / €150 monthly on anything that supports your wellbeing - from therapy to gym memberships to meditation apps.
