The role

As a Lead Document Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll take ownership of all document control activities across our projects, acting as the subject matter expert for processes, standards, and compliance. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact, leading a team, driving best practice, and ensuring critical information is accurate, secure, and accessible.

Day‑to‑day you’ll be required to:
  • Lead and manage all document control activities across the project, including team leadership.
  • Develop and implement project-specific document control arrangements aligned with Cavendish Nuclear and customer requirements.
  • Drive system adoption, performance reporting, audits, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and other project functions to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Champion continuous improvement and support wider information and knowledge management initiatives.

This is a full-time, permanent role working 37 hours per week, based at Warrington, Cheshire or Leicester, Leicestershire with occasional travel. You’ll need to be in the office 4–5 days per week.

Essential experience of the Lead Document Controller:
  • Proven experience in a senior or lead document control role, including managing a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of document control and records management processes in a project environment.
  • Strong understanding of information management standards (e.g., ISO 15489, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 23081).
  • Experience implementing and managing an Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).
Qualifications for the Lead Document Controller:
  • Records Management or Librarian qualification (or willingness to undertake).
