A local authority in the East Midlands is seeking a skilled Building & Play Maintenance Operative. In this role, you'll undertake various building maintenance tasks including plumbing, painting, and joinery. The ideal candidate will have a core building background, strong organization skills, and the ability to work independently. Amber Valley Borough Council are looking for an experienced multiskilled and highly motivated Building & play Maintenance Operative.
Located within the Building & Open Spaces business unit, the role will focus on day to day building maintenance tasks. This will include basic plumbing, painting, joinery and handy person tasks. Additionally, there will be a requirement to undertake building and landscape maintenance/improvement works across the Councils property and land portfolio.
You will ideally have a core building trade background with the ability to multi-skill across a wide range of minor repair needs (e.g. plumbing, joinery, plastering, brickwork). You will also have good organisation skills and be able to work on your own initiative with the minimum of supervision.
The role will also include on occasions, the ability to open and close sites across the building portfolio, take utility readings and meet building contractors on site.

The role will include some travel, mainly within the Amber Valley Borough Council district; you should hold a full driving licence and ideally have access to your own vehicle.
Flexibility and a positive attitude are a must. The work pattern will be Monday to Friday - 9.00 am - 3.00 pm.
