Join our small, friendly, but busy Poultry Veterinary Laboratory near Cambridge as a Laboratory Technician, here at Slate Hall Veterinary Services.

We are seeking a dedicated and self-motivated individual with excellent communication and IT skills to ensure the smooth operation of our veterinary and laboratory team.

About Us

Our laboratory is UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 and DEFRA approved, operating under highly regulated conditions to maintain exceptional quality in our results. Our main testing includes:

  • Salmonella Isolation and Confirmation (including S.enteritidis vaccine strain check)
  • Rapid Slide Agglutination Serology for Mg, Ms, and Sp antibodies
Additionallaboratory activities include:
  • Serological testing using ELISA and HI tests
  • Farm and hatchery environmental hygiene monitoring
  • Water testing and bacteriology to support post-mortem work
  • Oocyst and worm egg counting from feces or litter
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests and ensure quality control
  • Collaborate with team members to support the smooth operation of the laboratory
