Key Account Manager – South East district

The Key Account Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of strategic account plans for high-value clients within the NHS, ensuring alignment with business objectives and driving long-term growth. The role fosters deep relationships with senior stakeholders and implements complex sales and marketing initiatives, analyzing market trends to identify growth opportunities. The role monitors key performance indicators, ensures the completion of contracts with key accounts, and collaborates cross-functionally to resolve issues and enhance customer satisfaction. The role serves as the primary escalation point for key accounts and works under limited supervision.

This is a field based role and you should be flexible to travel to customer sites in the South East area of England as required.

Your role
  • Uses data to develop and execute strategic account plans for high-value clients, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and driving long-term growth for the company.
  • Have strong understanding of finance and financial innovation.
  • Understand challenges facing the NHS and be able to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders at senior levels within Trusts, ICBs and Networks.
  • Balance short term order intake demands with long term strategic development.
  • Be able to work in a matrix organisation and lead and inspire a team, with no direct reporting line, to achieve shared goals such as customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze market trends and comprehensive customer data to identify new business opportunities, creating innovative strategies to capture and grow market share within assigned accounts.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics for key accounts, providing regular updates and insights to senior management to inform and guide strategic decisions, ensuring regular updates to sales data in the Customer Relationship Management System in line with Company policies and KPI's.
  • Lead the creation and execution of customised sales presentations and proposals, effectively communicating the value proposition and competitive advantages of the company's offerings.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for key accounts, addressing and managing the resolution of any critical issues promptly while maintaining strong client relationships and trust through proactive communication.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to junior‑level account managers, sharing expertise, providing strategic guidance, and fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning within the team.
  • Ensure full compliance with company business processes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest levels of business integrity and conduct, safeguarding the company's reputation.

  • Track record of sales delivery against targets in medical devices market, ideally alongside evidence of consultative solution selling.

Due to the role working in the healthcare environment, a standard DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) criminal record check will be required for this role.
