  • Lodging of documents, accompanying members to court, delivery of papers to and from Court.
  • Collection and delivery of post, by hand deliveries.
  • Photocopying and bundling.
  • Efficient management and distribution of incoming communications, urgent papers/instructions.
  • Fixing hearings at Court.
  • Entering fees and case data on to the LEX diary and fees system.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls and directing calls to members and staff when reception is otherwise engaged.

A leading set of barristers’ chambers specialising in commercial litigation and arbitration, One Essex Court is currently seeking a Junior Clerk to join the Chambers clerking team.

With over 135 full-time practitioners, including 55 King’s Counsel, this is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to start or continue their clerking career in a Magic Circle Set.

Purpose of role

The role will include general office duties; document production requests; delivery of case materials; and arranging for barristers and case materials to be transported to and from hearings. Previous experience desirable but not essential.
