Key Details
- Hours of Work: 25.9 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am‑5pm
- Location: Home-based with occasional travel around the Peterborough area (must live locally, hold a full driver’s licence, and have access to transport)
- Salary: £16,969.68 per week (equivalent to £24,242.40 per annum)
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Working schedule includes flexibility and occasional travel outside the specified borough, reimbursed at mileage rate per policy
What You’ll Do
- Provide high‑quality instructed and non‑instructed advocacy tailored to the client’s needs and the service being provided
- Act on behalf of clients at all times, including following their instructions, taking action as directed, and representing their wishes, feelings, beliefs and values in a manner consistent with law, guidance and best practice
- Demonstrate effective, outcome‑focused case management, ensuring all casework follows planning, action and review processes with detailed recording
- Produce high‑quality written reports as required for statutory advocacy roles
- Escalate concerns or complaints professionally to relevant public bodies as instructed by clients or otherwise where appropriate
Independent Advocate Requirements
- Strong communication and time‑management skills to work effectively remotely
- Excellent IT proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and the ability to learn additional software such as client‑management databases
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record‑keeping and reporting to meet tight deadlines
Desirable
- Previous experience in advocacy, information and advice, or a similar role within health, social care or the voluntary sector
- Demonstrable experience working with vulnerable adults
- Working knowledge of public and voluntary organisations
