A leader in electrification technology is looking for an HVDC Service Engineer to provide maintenance and repair services for the CMS link. The role requires high voltage experience and safety knowledge, with a strong emphasis on working in a team. You will ensure exceptional service availability and maintain a safety-first culture. Ideal candidates will have relevant engineering qualifications and be based within a 120-minute drive of the Spittal HVDC Converter Station.
Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity for HVDC Service Engineer, reporting to the Project Manager you will be responsible for working at the Caithness Moray Shetland (CMS) HVDC Link and other Hitachi Energy HVDC customer sites throughout the UK and Ireland but primarily Spittal HVDC Converter Station located in the Caithness area of Scotland
Your main duties will be to provide 1st line support along with maintenance & repair services for the CMS Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA). You will work closely with the existing Service Team to gain the competencies to provide 1st line support. Flexible working hours will also be required for significant maintenance tasks on an impromptu basis as required. There will also be the requirement to support the wider HVDC team as and when requested by the needs of the business for tasks such as unplanned and planned outages, ad hoc standby coverage and tasks in line with the individual’s skillset.
Location: Scotland, (Spittal HVDC Converter Station), will require 24/7 on-call on a 1 week in 3 basis with a fast response time to site.
