Job description

Salary: Main Professional Grade (MPS/UPS)
Closing Date: Midnight 14 th January 2026
Interview Date: TBC Tuesday 20 th January likely

We are seeking an excellent Humanities teacher to join our outstanding school at an exciting stage of its development, as we prepare students for GCSE and beyond (with our first GCSE cohort completing examinations in 2023). This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to work within a forward‑thinking and ambitious staff team, supported by an experienced Senior Leadership Team and Head of Department.

Ada Lovelace is one of four schools within the highly successful Twyford Trust, based in the London Borough of Ealing. The Trust is committed to staff development, offering comprehensive CPD, strong career progression opportunities and clear pathways for promotion.

This role would suit a teacher who is passionate about their subject, enjoys working collaboratively, inspires learners, and is committed to contributing to shared goals and continued excellence across the department.

At Ada Lovelace High School, we place a strong emphasis on valuing staff time and supporting professional growth. Our approach is designed to help teachers thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Students finish early on Fridays, giving staff dedicated time for high‑quality CPD every Friday afternoon. This ensures that professional development is embedded into the working week. Our commitment to staff wellbeing goes hand in hand with our ambition for excellence, with a centralised academic curriculum alongside shared pastoral systems and resources.

We provide opportunities for colleagues to deepen subject knowledge, engage in research, and undertake further qualifications such as National Professional Qualifications (NPQs). Our CPD programme is comprehensive and forward‑thinking, ensuring staff remain up to date with the latest developments in pedagogy and curriculum design.

At Ada Lovelace, we believe the biggest impact happens when we work together as a team. Team culture is central to everything we do, and we regularly remind ourselves that “we are all developing teachers.” Collaboration, consistency, and shared learning are at the heart of our approach.

We offer:

  • Exceptional professional development and career progression
  • Positive working relationships at all levels
  • Opportunities to gain experience within four different Trust schools with a shared commitment to collaboration

The successful candidate will have:

  • A good degree and Qualified Teacher Status
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students across the ability range
  • A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
  • A reflective approach and drive for continuous improvement
  • A commitment to the ethos and values of the school

The school reserves the right to research shortlisted candidates on social media platforms and the internet, and the recruitment panel may take this information into consideration during the recruitment process.

The Twyford Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undergo the child protection screening appropriate to the post, including an enhanced disclosure from the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and references from previous employers. For more information about the DBS please see https://www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check. The post-holder will also be expected to read and adhere to the Trust’s Child Protection Policy, and any other Safeguarding documents stated within this.

The Twyford Church of England Academy Trust is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents our context and wider community. We are aware that those of Global Majority Heritage/United Kingdom Minority Ethnic (GMH/UKME) and disabled people are currently under‑represented among our staff, and we particularly encourage applications from those with the relevant skills and experience that will increase this representation.

The Twyford Church of England Academies Trust (TCEAT) is a compact Church of England multi‑academy Trust which comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing. The Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community. Over a 10 year period it launched three new schools Ada Lovelace, Ealing Fields and William Perkin all of which have achieved progress outcomes ranking them in the top 5% of schools nationally, making TCEAT the highest attaining Trust in the UK for student progress by Year 11. TCEAT aims to deliver outstanding education in a comprehensive school setting and embraces the Twyford School motto ‘Life in all its fullness’, encouraging students to use their individual gifts wisely and well. Supported by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS), the TCEAT operates on collaborative principles with some central services to achieve consistency of provision. The Trust has a highly evolved common curriculum which has been devised by staff within the four schools. The Trust is also the hub of Teach West London and prides itself on high quality, peer‑led CPD within a dynamic culture of self‑improvement.
