Ashton Gate Stadium is a unique sports and entertainment business with the core aim of providing integral support services to ensure the sustainability of Stephen Lansdown’s sporting group of companies which includes Bristol Sport, Bristol City, Bristol Bears, Bristol Flyers Basketball and each of their respective community charities.

Our Human Resources team is responsible for processing new joiners to the business, supporting them throughout their lifecycle with queries and also supporting when they are leaving the business. You will have experience of working in a fast-paced HR role and will have strong administration and communication skills at all levels.

JOB PURPOSE
Human Resources Department

As a HR Officer you will support department in delivering comprehensive HR support and ensuring compliance with employment legislation while providing guidance to managers and employees across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line HR to managers and employees, offering advice on employee relations matters such as grievances, disciplinaries, capability and performance management
  • Contribute to the creation and continuous review of HR policies and procedures to reflect legal updates and best practices
  • Advise management on HR compliance issues and assist with audits as needed
  • Maintain employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality across the HR Information System
  • Conduct investigations into employee relations cases and support resolution processes
  • Work with managers to ensure probationary periods and performance management processes, including appraisals and objectives, are effectively implemented
  • Prepare and issue employment contracts, offer letters, and contractual amendments
  • Generate and submit monthly absence reports and manage occupational health referrals as necessary
  • Support the end-to-end recruitment process for casual and permanent staff, including drafting job adverts, job descriptions, and person specifications
  • Support hiring managers in the interview process, ensuring consistency and compliance with company policies
  • Lead the onboarding process for new employees ensuring compliance
  • Assist in the design of training programs for staff and managers, supporting ongoing employee development
  • Manage the apprenticeship levy, ensuring compliance with regulations and keeping accurate records
  • Support effective management of employee absence, conducting reviews with managers to address attendance concerns and referring to occupational health
  • Ensure accurate information is supplied for payroll processing
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and action plans
  • Support on HR projects as required
  • Attend the health and safety meetings, oversee weekly health and safety checks and track health and safety training certificates and expiry
  • Ensure all incidents, accidents and hazards are reported as required
  • Demonstrable experience in employee relations

Hours: Monday to Friday, Part time flexible up to 25 hours

Location: Office based role at Ashton Gate Stadium

Health and Safety
  • Responsible for ensuring all health and safety procedures arefollowed at all times, with relevant paperwork to support
  • To ensure all employees complete their trained required to do their job

  • To report any hazards detected
  • To complete and review the risk assessments for the department
