Overview

Hospital & Community Pharmacy Technician role at Fairfield General Hospital and Rochdale Infirmary. 9 months fixed term contract. This position is a Band 4 (with potential progression to Band 5 based on experience/qualifications). There is an expectation to participate in extended hours, late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician with good communication and teamwork skills who can work under pressure, develop professionally, and deliver high standards in a patient-focused service. Applications from Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians registering in 2025 are welcome.

About the organization: The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) provides hospital and integrated health and social care services across Greater Manchester with a large team of colleagues dedicated to high standards of care and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Gain experience of dispensing, ward-based medicines management duties, medication reviews in community settings and clinical trials.
  • Work as part of a clinical technical service team after training, recording patient medication history and processing discharges at ward and community level.
  • Participate in full dispensary duties.
  • Support extended hours, late nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis as required.
