Overview

Basic £41,000, OTE £45,000. Overtime paid at time and a half. 40 hours. (various shifts available).

Your Role

We are looking for an experienced and qualified HGV Technician to join our team at our Mercedes-Benz dealership in Swindon. As an HGV Technician, your role will be to keep our customers’ vehicles on the road through quality, safe and compliant maintenance. The right candidate will be able to deliver an exceptional service to the highest quality.

Day to day, you will be:
  • Performing major and minor repairs to Mercedes-Benz trucks.
  • Performing regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services.
  • Maintaining inventory in the workshop and cleanliness from oil spills and dust.
  • Working with repair teams to help diagnose and plan repairs for the vehicles.
  • Maintaining records of vehicles that have been repaired, using all appropriate modules of Keyloop/Kerridge.
  • Completing relevant documentation and paperwork as required and providing warranty claims or escalating them to higher management.
  • Carrying out wheel alignment and tyre fitting.
  • Completing customer documentation while working to agreed time scales.
Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role

Qualification - You will need to be level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in HGV Vehicle Repair and maintenance, with experience in carrying out diagnostic and service repairs. You will need the ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with DVSA Standards and hold a current, full UK driving license for the relevant vehicle classes.
