HGV Taskforce Driver

A temporary contract with Royal Mail, Pertemps is recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers for a Christmas Task Force. Drivers will trunk mail and parcels across the Royal Mail network, working to tight schedules while maintaining safety standards. This role requires flexibility to work all requested shifts during the contract duration.

Responsibilities

• Trunk mail and parcels across the Royal Mail network
• Work to tight schedules with measured and monitored running times
• Maintain the highest safety standards throughout work
• Be flexible to work any requested shift during the contract duration

Benefits

• A rota based on any 5 out of 7 days with a minimum of 8 hours daily
• A 6th shift will be available wherever legal to complete
• Mileage paid from home address (within Scotland, Wales, and England only) to and from the allocated hotel at 45pence per mile (one return trip paid in total)
• Block‑booked paid hotel accommodation, including breakfast and one meal per day for the contract duration (further information provided upon registration)
• £15 per day subsistence payment (7 days per week) = £105 paid weekly
• Weekly relocation payment accrued and paid at end of assignment for each full week (5 shifts per week) attended, paid @£240 per week. NOTE: Paid in a lump sum at the end of the project; minimum 5 shifts per week (including weekends) required to receive bonus
• Project duration minimum 4 weeks and maximum 8 weeks (discussed prior to acceptance)
• Holiday accrual
• PAYE pay rates from £20.82 to £23.85 per hour, dependent on location (National or Outer London) and start times
• Project duration as dictated by the client

Qualifications

• Current CPC and Digital Tachograph cards
• Full UK driving licence
• Held an LGV Class 1 licence for 12 months
• Maximum 6 penalty points
• Cannot accept endorsements IN, DD, CD, or DR for insurance purposes
• Only PAYE drivers (no limited company or umbrella)
