Base pay range

Job Title: HGV Mechanic

Location: Ufford, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP13 6ET

Salary: £34,094.05 - £46,312.43 per annum (career grade dependent on experience)

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

We currently have an opportunity to join our Fleet Maintenance team as an HGV Mechanic.

Your role:

• Inspect, service, maintain, diagnose and repair vehicles, including Refuse lorries.
• Ensure vehicles are fit for purpose and meet health, safety and legal requirements.
• Attend breakdown callouts within normal working hours and provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
• Work closely with the Waste and Recycling department to keep vehicles on the road, safe, and well maintained.

• No night shifts; only 3 fixed Saturday shifts per year.

Qualifications and requirements

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in HGV Vehicle Maintenance Repair.
• City & Guilds Full Technical Certificate in Motor Vehicle Studies qualification.
• Excellent knowledge of vehicle maintenance standards required for HGV operation and IRTEC registration.
• Full UK Category B driving licence (or willingness to obtain Category C licence).
• Hard‑working, motivated team player with initiative and sound judgement.
