Job Description

As a Healthcare Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective training to both new and existing care staff. You’ll ensure all staff meet regulatory requirements while continuously developing their skills, knowledge, and understanding in line with best practices in the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver healthcare training programmes, including mandatory subjects such as safeguarding, moving & handling, and first aid.
  • Provide specialist training in areas such as dementia care, medication administration, and end-of-life care.
  • Assess and evaluate the competency of care staff through practical assessments and knowledge checks.
  • Stay up to date with all relevant healthcare regulations and ensure training materials reflect any changes.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive training records.
  • Prepare regular reports on training completion and staff performance for management.
  • Collaborate with HR and management teams to identify and fulfil ongoing training needs.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a healthcare training role, ideally within domiciliary care.
  • Recognised training qualification (e.g., Level 3 Award in Education and Training, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience delivering training in areas such as manual handling, medication, and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Comprehensive understanding of CQC regulations and healthcare standards.
  • Flexibility to travel to different care locations when required.
