Health and Social Care Graduate Academic Mentor – Birmingham | ASAP Start

Are you a recent graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before teacher training or a career in education? Join a supportive sixth form college in Birmingham as a Graduate Academic Mentor.

The opportunity
  • Sixth form rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted
  • Full‑time, term‑time role (Monday–Friday)
  • £480–£520 per week, term time only
  • Fixed‑term contract for the 2025/26 academic year
  • Hands‑on experience supporting A‑Level and BTEC students
  • Develop skills in mentoring, coaching, and academic support
What we’re looking for
  • A graduate (2:1 or above) from a health and social care related degree
  • Someone passionate about education, mentoring, and student success
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Confident delivering structured academic support to individuals and groups
What you’ll do
  • Support the adult learning team working with students 19+
  • Encourage and motivate students towards achieving their goals
  • Help manage the Open Learning Centre, supporting independent study
  • Be a positive role model and promote extra‑curricular involvement
