Head Of Transactional Finance
Location: Coventry Head Office with Hybrid working
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
Salary: £65,000 - £72,000 depending on experience and qualifications

About the role

A newly created position for idverdeUK, we are seeking a Head of Transactional Finance to join our business. This is a key role that will lead our Transactional Finance teams and work closely with the UK Finance Director & Financial Controller. As Head of Transactional Finance you will ensure operational compliance, provide working capital analysis, daily cash forecasting input & ensure all data and ledgers are maintained to a high standard.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance & Payroll professional who can support the senior finance team alongside managing & developing your own teams within the function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll teams, including day-to-day management, coaching, feedback and fostering a culture of development.
  • Monitor KPI performance, operational compliance & delivery of weekly targets across Finance and Operational teams; identify issues and support improvements.
  • Oversee robust payroll practices, ensuring accurate payroll data, clean and accurate AP and AR ledgers, costing structures in iTrent, and effective controls.
  • Manage accurate cash forecasting for customer receipts, supplier payments, payroll, and taxes.
  • Prepare accurate balance sheet reconciliations with clear resolution of reconciling items.
  • Prepare and submit P11Ds, ensuring expenses data is accurate and compliant, support PSA calculations and submissions. Complete all HMRC submissions within deadlines.
  • Support month-end working capital analysis and complete departmental reports for Regional Business Reviews.
  • Build strong working relationships across Finance teams (Financial Accounts, FBPs, FP&A) and Operational colleagues to improve data quality, reporting, and workflow.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners and Operations to reduce accrued income and convert to billed revenue.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements across all areas of responsibility.
Requirements
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or QBE with relevant experience.
  • Payroll experience necessary with a strong understanding of transactional finance and core accounting principles.
  • Experience with multiple finance systems, an adaptable approach to new systems (previous use of iTrent beneficial) and strong Excel skills are essential.
  • High level of ownership and understanding of the impact financial outputs have on the wider organisation.
  • Experience producing balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements, with sound understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • A positive, continuous-improvement mindset with the confidence to identify and communicate process or data improvements to Finance leadership and operational teams.
  • Experience managing and developing large teams, with excellent attention to detail when reviewing and sense-checking work.
  • Effective time management skills & ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in an efficient, calm and methodical manner.
