Head of Sport Brand Partnerships - Clothing Retail

Location: London, England, United Kingdom

The Head of Sport Brand Partnerships is responsible for owning several key sports brand relationships, delivering long‑term planning and strategy, and acting as a centre of excellence for the commercial team in assigned brands and categories. You will support the Group Head of Sports Brand Partnerships and the Chief Brand Officer, creating sports brand partnerships across the group.

Responsibilities
  • Managing and nurturing ongoing relationships with assigned brands, acting as lead point of contact at defined levels.
  • Leading long‑term strategy for assigned brands.
  • Regularly meeting with brand representatives to discuss performance, address challenges and promote collaboration.
  • Developing a deep understanding of portfolio brands goals, positioning and market needs to drive mutual success.
  • Identifying and managing key strategic priorities for each brand to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Developing operational scorecards in alignment with the Group Head to track performance against monthly KPIs.
  • Collaborating with the Commercial team to develop and communicate seasonal budgets for each brand.
  • Supporting the Group Head with strategic brand negotiations, leading own brand portfolio for LT, and supporting the wider commercial team on seasonal negotiations.
  • Owning cross‑functional project and initiative implementation.
  • Owning financial performance tracking and reporting for top 10 and assigned brand portfolio.
  • Supporting product distribution strategies that optimise access and range development.
  • Driving dialogue with the commercial team to ensure the right product mix is available at the right time.
  • Supporting 360 reviews.
  • Creating frameworks and processes to standardise ways of working.
  • Owning marketplace analysis and reporting.
  • Leading and developing Brand Partnership Managers; supporting Commercial Manager development, setting clear goals, expectations and performance standards.
Qualifications
  • 10 years’ experience in B2B partnerships, ideally in sport or fashion retail.
  • Strong experience in a retailer brand‑facing or brand‑retailer‑facing role.
  • Proven track record of establishing strategic partnerships.
  • Quickly understand the Sports Direct brand to prioritise its equity through all partnerships and intuitively understand the right brand mix for opportunities.
  • Collaborative mindset, experienced in working across broad cross‑functional stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Experience leading a team within a buying or brand partnership environment.
  • Strong analytical skills – ability to understand commercial data, build KPIs and make data‑led decisions.
  • Open and transparent, able to navigate the organisation comfortably with ambiguity.
  • Highly organised, structured, with strong strategic thinking, vision, entrepreneurial mindset and leadership.
  • English native or fluent in English.
