We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to lead our successful Drama department and work within our newly established Performing Arts Stream ‘Spotlight’. We have an excellent track record of examination success within Drama at GCSE and are currently in the process of introducing the Level 1 / 2 BTEC in Performing Arts with the aim to extend this to KS5 in forthcoming years. We have two dedicated Drama suites and a full‑time dedicated Sound and Performance Technician and excellent equipment. The successful candidate will be student‑centred and be prepared to ‘go the extra mile’ to help students perform at all levels.
We have a long‑established history of annual productions, and the successful candidate will contribute to these productions alongside our committed Performing Arts team. Our goal over the next academic year is to embed our newly developed schemes of work, which include leadership, literacy and oracy opportunities for each and every student. We aim to have all students leaving Northampton Academy as confident, well‑rounded individuals with a real sense of purpose. Drama will be one of the most important and influential players as we strive for this ambitious target.
