An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head Dental Nurse to join our well-established Galashiels practice.

The Job Role:

To support and manage the dental nurse team to facilitate the delivery of high-quality care, ensuring all dental treatments are provided in a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.

Assisting the Practice Manager in maintaining the clinical standards of the business implementing and supervising clinical practice policies and guidance. This will ensure the delivery of exceptional patient-focused dentistry from our Dental Nurse team.

In Addition:
  • Provide chairside assistance, ensuring that the correct equipment is available
  • Keep and oversee the clinical areas and all equipment and instruments are kept clean, tidy and sterile as appropriate according to the practice’s health and safety and infection control procedures and manufacturers' instruction
  • To maintain your own and support your Nursing team to increase competence in nursing skills by actively following a programme of continuing professional development.
  • Supporting and dealing with clinical issues regarding Dental Nurses, ICP or Equipment and liaising with Practice Manager if issues are not able to be resolved at Head Dental Nurse level.
  • Work with Facilities department and your team to maintain equipment, report issues and log records
  • Liaise with Practice Manager & Front of House Administrator to manage annual leave requests and Staff rota’s
  • Conducting recruitment interviews alongside Practice Manager for Qualified and/or Trainee Dental Nurses
  • Act as practice Dental Nurse Trainee mentor
  • Communicate with Trainee Dental Nurse Tutor for progress reviews
  • Complete Emergency drugs checks
  • Complete Stock takes, monitoring and ordering
  • Checking stock deliveries on arrival
  • Monitor and manage Care manager on SOE Exact
  • Chairing Dental Nurse meetings – agenda & minutes
  • Supporting the Practice Manager in preparing for CPI
  • Complete training for specialised services across all Iblu sites and conduct in-house training for relevant team members
