Overview

Drumchapel Lawn Tennis Club is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced coach to take on the role of HEAD COACH within our community club. This person will assume the role of delivering and expanding our coaching programme on a self-employed basis. They will work with our coaching team to deliver sessions to develop members' skills and provide motivational support to develop their tennis skills to a higher level, but also promote the fun of tennis to a wider audience.

The coach would be responsible for the development of players to achieve team selection as well as supporting recreational players. Promotion of tennis in local area is essential. Work with the club to identify areas that could be developed within the club and to organise sessions to achieve the Clubs goals. DLTC is a charity run community club with ambitions for all to love the game of tennis and to achieve their true potential.

We have 4 artificial grass courts with 2 mini courts - also 1 court is marked out for pickle ball. Currently we have 6 gents teams and 3 ladies teams with a junior section also playing in west of Scotland leagues (summer and winter competitions are also entered at all ages). We offer group and individual coaching sessions, holiday camps and tournaments for all levels. There is an opportunity to develop tennis in the local area further through schools and local authority facilities which we see as a pathway to the Club.

We are looking for a driven and experienced individual with a LTA Level 3 accredited + coaching qualification minimum who can work with the club to develop tennis in the local area. Experience of coaching players of various skill levels and ages is essential. All legal requirements for coaching tennis must be held. We envisage the Head Coach would be of suitable standard to be able to pass their team knowledge on to players and also be a team member and mentor to all.

Responsibilities

  • Represent DLTC as a mentor and team member, facilitating knowledge transfer to players
  • Support development of tennis through schools and local authority facilities
