Job Description
The Technical Engineer at CDE plays a pivotal role in crafting innovative solutions that address our customers' most pressing challenges. The role spans the entire project lifecycle—from conceptual stages in pre‑sales through to completion, including performance testing at final commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Manage specifications for sales and current projects.
- Create accurate plant technical specifications through liaison with sales and the customer.
- Collaborate with the operations team to produce detailed design, purchasing and production documentation.
- Inform Sales, Design and Purchasing teams about project specification aspects.
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑project investigations to support continual improvement.
- Develop and manage the plant specification process to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Support sales with preliminary technical specifications, site visits and product/process advice.
- Maintain and develop O&M manuals for each CDE product model, incorporating new designs and features.
- Ensure customer updates are captured, released on revised O&M manuals and uploaded to CDE Connect.
- Ensure technical documentation is clear, concise and technically correct.
- Process testing of materials to optimize washing plant design and schedule sample testing.
- Record all data linked to testing activities.
- Report results in a professional format in keeping with CDE document procedures.

Required Criteria
- Good level of secondary education with high numeracy and literacy.
- Computer literate in Windows‑based software and basic design package proficiency.
- Understanding of the technical specification process.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.

- Current driving licence with vehicle insured for business use.

Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of data analysis and Microsoft PowerBI.
- Experience with IFS systems.
- First or Upper 2nd Class Honours Degree.
- Degree level education in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Chemical.
