Graduate Structural Engineer

Our multi-disciplined teams provide a number of property services to our clients, undertaking a wide range of projects including residential/commercial/educational of varying size and complexity, resulting in innovative, sustainable and commercially viable delivery.

The Graduate Civil Engineer will be responsible for assisting senior colleagues in the day-to-day activities to learn the new technologies, systems and procedures and to gain experience in their use, gradually taking on more responsibility commensurate with level of competence gained.

Main Responsibilities
  • Liaise with the civil engineering team to plan workload and resource.
  • Completion of the Planned Programme to agreed cost and time targets.
  • Support the delivery of high quality management and delivery of projects and programmes to the required quality, cost and agreed timescales.
  • Achieve successful client relationships.
  • Ensure that clients receive the best professional advice by liaison with clients, heads of establishment and end users.
  • Maintain good quality project files and records; update systems and financial reports.
  • Responsible for identifying new business opportunities.
  • Fee earning at 90%, and contribute to the achievement of business plan objectives and targets.
  • This role requires frequent travel to other offices and sites as required.
  • Carry out duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
  • Promote continuous improvement and deliver demonstrable high quality products and services which embrace quality standards.
Skills and knowledge
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiar with relevant construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos
  • Experience in a similar or related role
  • Graduate membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers
  • Degree or equivalent in an Engineering related discipline
  • Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain one
