Public service is more important than ever, and this role represents a real opportunity to make a difference to our communities by transforming the way we work and placing our residents at the heart of everything we do.

Working at Liverpool City Council provides an opportunity to contribute to your community and make a positive impact on the lives of residents. Our values shape how we work to deliver public services, and how we communicate with the residents we serve. We care about the best outcomes for local people, through our public services.

The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial team at Liverpool City Council. We are looking for multiple graduates who wish to gain experience and contribute to the team through the completion of appropriate duties in relevant work areas through the successful completion of the CIEH EHP portfolio within 24 months.

This post puts you at the heart of a passionate and dynamic department which is critical in the delivery of the Council’s services

The role of Environmental Health Officer involves a wide range of regulatory functions, balancing proportionate risk-based enforcement interventions to our businesses. The ideal candidate for the Environmental Health Officer role will have an accredited Environmental Health Degree (BSc or MSc or equivalent). You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, alongside an investigative and analytical approach to work and effective team working skills

This role is fixed term for the purpose of completing the CIEH EHP portfolio and will end 24 months after you start with us.

Our offer to you:
  • At least 27 days holiday, plus bank holidays rising to 32 after 5 years’ service (pro rata if part time) - option to purchase further days
  • Agile working (role dependent) - a “Flexibility First” approach to agile working, where flexibility is the norm rather than the exception
