About the Role –We are excited to invite applications for the position of Graduate Civil Engineer at our Glasgow Office. As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you will work in a supportive environment where you will receive guidance from experienced directors and a dedicated team of engineers and technicians. This position is designed to help you develop your skills and knowledge in civil engineering whilst contributing to a variety of projects.

Successful candidates will benefit from education, training and mentoring support to enable them to work towards Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). This qualification is globally recognised and signifies a mark of expertise. We are also committed to supporting your further professional development.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and development of infrastructure projects in rail, highways, ports and harbours environments
  • Bridges and heavy civil engineering design
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project goals are met on time and to a high standard
  • Liaise with statutory bodies such as Network Rail, Transport Scotland, Local Councils
  • Carry out relevant technical analysis utilising design software (LUSAS, MIDAS and AutoCAD)
  • Participate in design, project and site meetings and carry out site monitoring
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with clients, colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate key information in a professional manner to offer advice and guidance on matters relating to your work.
  • Prepare, issue and manage technical project information, including calculations, drawings and models ensuring consistency and accuracy throughout all documentation.
  • Manage project tasks whilst adhering to agreed budgetary limits and timelines
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge through work based learning and self-study.
