Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Scotland is seeking ambitious Graduate Civil Engineers. You will assist with site operations management, planning, and quality control while engaging in a structured 15-month Graduate Programme aimed at fostering your development and career in Civil Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and a readiness to learn.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the management of site operations ensuring safety and quality.
  • Planning and sequencing of operations with method statements.
  • Implementing operational quality control processes.
  • Preparing technical drawings and construction documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with engineering standards and local regulations.
  • Engaging with the Graduate Programme.

About Graduate Programme

The STRABAG UK Graduate Programme has been designed to provide you with powerful development and experience, giving you an incredible start to your career with us. It starts with your induction week, held offsite, where together, we focus on communication, teamwork and connection. You will learn more about yourself, your colleagues and the business. You will also be introduced to your mentor who will be there to support you throughout. The STRABAG UK Graduate Programme is 15 months in duration and offers industry leading development. It is intense but hugely rewarding and on successful completion, you will receive accreditations and qualifications from industry recognised bodies such as:

  • The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
  • Association for Project Management (APM)
  • Institute of Sustainability & Environmental Professionals (ISEP)
  • British Tunnelling Society (BTS)
  • The Institute of Leadership (IOL)

You will also begin your journey with professional associations such as The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) and The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Role Requirements
  • Assisting with the management of site operations, to ensure safety, quality, cost‑effectiveness, timely production and customer satisfaction
  • Planning and sequencing of operations, including writing method statements and risk assessments, and procuring sub‑contractor, labour, plant and material resources
  • Briefing teams & implementing operational quality control including setting out and QA processes
  • Prepare technical drawings, calculations, and construction documentation under supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, local regulations, and safety requirements.
