Job summary

A logistics and supply chain company in Hythe is seeking a Goods Inwards Stores / Stock Controller to ensure accurate stock receipts and distribution. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills and a full UK driving licence. This role offers a working pattern of 08:00 to 17:00 Mon to Thurs and 08:00 to 13:00 Fridays. Quarterly bonuses and increasing holiday entitlements are included.

Job description

Hours: 39 hours p/w with a 1pm finish every Friday.

Our client have accumulated decades of experience in the production of high-specification components, including copper & aluminium busbars, switchgear, core packs & motor laminations They are seeking a Goods Inwards Stores / Stock Controller who can start with them as soon as possible.

Your role will include:

  • Ensuring accurate receipts of sub-contracted orders and general consumables.
  • Distribution of purchased items within the business.
  • Helping to maintain accurate stock levels of work in progress and bought in components.
  • Assisting Production cells to maintain accurate stock records.
  • To assist in despatch of finished goods as and when required
  • To cover for raw material stores during holiday periods.
  • Occasional delivery driving duties.

You will need to have:

  • Full UK current driving licence
  • Good organisational and problem solving skills.
  • Good level of computer literacy, previous use of computer based stock control systems
  • Attention to detail and adaptable to changing situations
  • Have a methodical & flexible approach to your work.
  • Good level of communication skills, approachable and open to learning
  • Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, including forklift and side loader operation, although full training will be given to the right applicant.

The working pattern for the role will generally be 08:00 to 17:00 Mon to Thurs, 08:00 to 13:00 Fridays. On-site parking is available and the area is well served by local bus routes. Quarterly bonuses are offered as well as a holiday entitlement which increases with your length of service.
