Job summary

A leading health research institution in Liverpool is seeking a highly motivated Programme Officer to support the operational delivery of clinical trials in the Malaria Epidemiology Unit. The role involves project management across multiple studies, including budget tracking and compliance with funder requirements. Candidates should have a degree or equivalent experience, along with strong organizational and communication skills. Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Global Health and challenges of working in resource-poor settings.
  • Extensive experience supporting project activities funded by a variety of donors.
  • Experience processing and tracking workplans and expenditure against agreed budgets.
  • Experience supporting activities in lower- and middle-income countries.
  • Experience working in a research institution or international development organisation in a similar role.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability and willingness to undertake national and international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robust project management systems for R21-PD.
  • Act as a key liaison with internal teams to ensure compliance.
  • Track project progress and expenditure, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Support preparation of technical and financial reports for funders.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support across the Malaria Epidemiology Unit.
  • Manage governance processes, including ethics submissions and trial monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels with partners.
  • Coordinate grant applications, including planning collaborative sessions.
