The Opportunity

We have an exciting new opportunity for a confident and highly motivated General Operative based out of our concrete block plant in Torrs, Shepton Mallet.

As an Operative you will be expected to operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently to maximise production. To inspect, carry out and ensure that plant routines are regularly adhered to and that the cleanliness of the equipment's, production area, adjacent buildings and storage areas are at all times properly and regularly inspected, cleaned and maintained in accordance with site instructions.

You will operate as a member of a multi-skilled production team producing concrete products. The role is primarily day shift from 8AM till 5:30PM with possible overtime as and when required.

What will you bring?

• We are looking for a highly motivated General Operative with a requirement for drive and enthusiasm and is able to work as part of Shift team.

• Good aptitude to learn how to operate the production press, outfeed system and FLTs.

• Operating forklift and counterbalance trucks

• Experience managing the stock on the yard

• IT literacy as you will be dispatching using E1 software

• Excellent communication and team working skills.

• Good organisational skills.

• Able to work on your own initiative.

• Physically fit and capable of manual labour, including lifting and carrying 20kgs for short distances.
