Qualifications

Overview

Gas Engineer role at Equans UK & Ireland, based in Rotherham. This is a permanent full-time position (40 hours per week) with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Equans are recruiting Gas Engineers to service social housing for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. The role focuses on safe and efficient servicing, maintenance and repairs of gas systems in residential and commercial properties, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.

What will you deliver?
  • Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics of gas appliances and heating systems.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
  • Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members as needed.
  • Liaise with clients and tenants to explain work required and provide maintenance advice.
  • Any other reasonable management request.

Who are we looking for?
  • Gas Safe registration (Gas Safe ID).
  • Relevant NVQ or City & Guilds qualifications in gas engineering (minimum level 3).
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in Construction.
  • Experience in gas appliance installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations pertaining to gas installations.
  • Full UK driving license.
