Overview

Chaffinch is a small charity working to support children in Kibera. We are seeking a volunteer to help create a fundraising strategy that provides clear ways for supporters to donate and engages new audiences to increase Chaffinch's income. This role focuses on developing sustainable fundraising approaches that align with the charity's mission and capacity.

Responsibilities

• Develop a fundraising strategy tailored to a small charity, taking into account appearances, channels, and ethical guidelines.
• Identify fundraising methods appropriate for our size and community and adapt them to our context.
• Work independently to design the strategy and mentor/train a team of fundraising volunteers to implement it.
• Collaborate with the charity to portray its mission and beneficiaries in a way that supports Chaffinch’s goals.
• Assist with subsequent fundraising activities as needed to realize the strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience in creating fundraising strategy or fundraising for a small charity.
• Understanding of both possibilities and limitations of small charity fundraising and ability to personalise fundraising methods.
• Ability to adhere to strict ethical guidelines and communicate the charity’s purpose effectively.
• Passion for the work of Chaffinch with the children of Kibera and a commitment to personal development within the role.
