Food Specification Technologist

Company: Vzw Miss Unique

Our client is an Independent Organic And Vegan Food Company, a brand owner and importer of a wide range of specialty foods distributed to the health food trade and supermarkets around the UK. Based in West London, this is an exciting opportunity to join a respected and sought‑after company.

We are looking for a Specification Technologist with a minimum of 3‑5 years of experience who will work closely with the technical team to ensure product compliance and accuracy.

• Responding to internal and external enquiries for technical information, completing customer questionnaires, specifications, new line forms and other technical documentation.
• Undertaking communication with suppliers and managing suppliers’ technical documentation to ensure accuracy and continuous compliance with the relevant regulations, agreed specifications and company standards.
• Maintaining the product database, ERP system, product specifications and related records, ensuring information is up‑to‑date and accurate.
• Assisting with customer queries and complaints and investigating them with suppliers.
• Working closely with the Product Development team, providing technical input to ensure full compliance of the final product and product label sign‑off.
• Maintaining third‑party standards compliance (Organic, Demeter, Vegan, Kosher, Packaging waste and recyclability reporting obligations).

Must also have working knowledge of EU/UK food regulations, including HACCP, labelling and allergen legislation. Good data skills and the ability to prioritise and complete a varied workload within tight timeframes. A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential.
