Qualifications

  • Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence and have Business Insurance.

About the role

About your role: We’re looking for a Fleet Vehicle Technician & Driver to ensure our college vehicles are safe, clean, and ready for use. You’ll play a key role in transporting students for educational visits, maintaining our fleet, and carrying out minor repairs. This is a hands‑on role that combines driving duties with practical maintenance tasks.

What you’ll do
  • Drive college vehicles for educational visits and other transport needs
  • Carry out daily and monthly vehicle checks, reporting faults promptly
  • Ensure vehicles are clean, tidy, and well‑presented at all times
  • Complete minor mechanical repairs within your qualifications and experience
  • Maintain stock of oils, fluids, and spare parts
  • Check compliance items such as road tax, permits, and first aid kits
  • Adhere to all legislation, including driver’s hours and Tachograph rules
What we’re looking for
Essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence with Business Insurance
  • Good practical skills in vehicle maintenance
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and with attention to detail
  • Previous customer care experience
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety practices
Desirable
  • PCV Licence (D Licence)
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • City & Guilds Motor Vehicle/Engineering qualification
  • Previous motor vehicle repair experience
