Job description
Overview

We’re a thriving team passionate about working together to deliver excellence, all in a natural forest environment. Welcome to Center Parcs – the number one choice for short break holidays, employing a team of over 10,000 across six separate villages located in the UK and Ireland. We are commercially focussed but ensure that this is led by an ethos of delivering excellent service which provides our guests with wonderful memories of their time with us. Standards, be they operational, health & safety or otherwise, are important to us, as is our ongoing commitment to nurture the forest environment within which we operate.

FIRST AID AND EMERGENCY TECHNICIAN | £13.92 per hour

If you’re a qualified First Aider with a genuine desire to help people in need and use your skills to make a bigger difference, then this role would be perfect for you.

Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for triaging and if appropriate treating the guests and colleagues who either present themselves to the First Aid Centre or who have had initial response from a Center Parcs First Aider. You will also respond to onsite first aid or emergency call outs, with a focus on assessment, stabilisation, and initial treatment before signposting or referring on to NHS services appropriate to the level of injury/illness sustained.

Other responsibilities will include logging all incidents and actions, ensuring compliance with company and GDPR standards and providing welfare follow-ups post incident, documenting any onward treatment requirements and outcomes.

Due to the sensitive nature of this role the successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) with Child & Adult List Barring Check. This disclosure, together with other selection information, will need to be satisfactory to the Company for employment to commence.

Please note that to apply for a role with us, you must be able to reliably commute to Center Parcs Longleat Forest (BA12 2PU), as it is not easily accessible by public transport. If you plan to use public transport, please plan your journey without a link.

Hours of Work

You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period. Shifts fall between 8.30am and 9pm, including some weekends.

As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis.

About You

Alongside your First Aid at Work certification, including AED, or extensive experience in first aid, you’ll have first class communication skills, work well under pressure and have a calm nature with the ability to assess and act quickly.

Essential requirements:

  • First Aid certification, with AED or extensive experience in providing First Aid
  • BLS Adult and Paediatrics or prepared to undertake training
  • Qualification in Oxygen administration or prepared to undertake training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload and make decisions in a calm and considered manner
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft and other computer systems
  • The ability to work autonomously, as well as in a team
