About this opportunity

The Financial Systems team is currently hosted by Cumberland Council but will disaggregate during this financial year so that each Council will have their own Financial Systems team. We are looking to recruit two Financial Systems Development Officers for the newly established Westmorland & Furness Council team. The post holders will work alongside the hosted team, which is based in Carlisle, until disaggregation takes place on 31st March 2026. This joint approach will allow for knowledge sharing and training for both Councils.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Finance Manager to develop the financial applications, leading on project initiatives and coordinating activities.
  • Challenge and develop business processes to ensure the financial systems continuously improve.
  • Review, develop and deliver financial systems training.
