Financial Controller

Location: Fradley, Staffordshire (after initial training in Wokingham)

Salary: £68,000 - £72,500 per annum (DOE)

Kyocera SGS Precision Tools is a leading manufacturer of solid carbide cutting tools, renowned for delivering high‑performance solutions for machining demanding materials across aerospace, medical, power generation, and motorsport sectors.

We are entering a major and exciting phase of growth as we relocate to the Midlands, bringing together Kyocera SGS and Kyocera Unimerco Tooling under one roof. This move will create Kyocera's largest carbide tooling site in Europe, a unified, future‑focused centre of excellence based in Fradley, Staffordshire.

About the Role

This key strategic position comes with responsibility for all day‑to‑day financial operations of Kyocera SGS Precision Tools EU Ltd, along with oversight of our legal and fiscal compliance across the UK and internationally. As a core member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with the EU Managing Director, contribute to organisational strategy, and provide financial leadership as the business transitions to its new Fradley facility and continues to scale.

Responsibilities include robust financial control, accurate, timely reporting to UK leadership and our parent company in the US (and wider Kyocera Group in Japan).

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all accounting functions and daily cash‑flow management
  • Ensure timely production of monthly Management Accounts
  • Lead monthly forecasting, reporting and analysis for UK and parent company requirements
  • Manage all legal and fiscal obligations including VAT, corporation tax, National Insurance and income tax compliance
  • Lead, mentor and develop an Accounts team of three
  • Maintain and improve core accounting processes
  • Ensure compliance with US and Japanese corporate accounting/reporting standards
  • Oversee payroll data preparation and approval
  • Manage bank reconciliations, control accounts, accruals, prepayments and stock reconciliation
  • Produce quarterly VAT returns, stock provisions and fixed asset register reconciliation
  • Prepare year‑end audit files and liaise with auditors
  • Support budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting and strategic planning
What We're Looking For
  • ACCA/CIMA qualified (or near completion)
  • Strong technical expertise with Sage 200 (advanced knowledge essential)
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills; Power BI experience preferred
  • A proactive, detail‑driven financial leader able to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience managing teams and presenting financial information at senior level
  • A collaborative mindset with the confidence to influence and guide decision‑making
  • Experience in Finance, Accounts Officer, Credit Controller, Purchase Ledger Clerk, Purchase Ledger Controller, Accounts Clerk, Accounts Payable Assistant, Purchase Ledger, Assistant Accountant also considered
