Overview

Permanent - fully remote position with UK-based Field Service Engineer duties supporting operations across the UK and Ireland. Salary: Basic £45,000 plus overtime rates, travel expenses, hybrid car. Excellent earning potential, paid door to door. Territory: UK and Ireland with occasional overseas trips. Candidate Location: Ideally residing in the Midlands region.

This role is with a long-established and internationally respected leader in the design and manufacture of specialised automation machinery for the glass processing industry.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues on-site and remotely
• Install, upgrade, maintain, and repair machinery
• Provide timely and effective field service support to global clients
• Deliver technical assistance and guidance to ensure optimal equipment performance
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation
• Communicate regularly with clients to ensure smooth operations and high customer satisfaction

This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with customers and internal teams.

Experience / Qualifications

• Troubleshooting and technical support skills
• Excellent working knowledge of electro-mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic control systems
• Computer literate with knowledge and experience interrogating maintenance and PLC software
• Field service and maintenance & repair experience
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools
• Knowledge of industrial automation and glass processing machinery is beneficial
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Qualification in an Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics discipline or related field
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK and occasional overseas client visits
• Valid UK passport
