Purpose of the Job

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for managing and supporting the operation and maintenance of systems within a Southern territory, ensuring high standards of technical service and customer satisfaction. This role combines hands‑on engineering expertise with strong organizational and project management skills, overseeing preventative maintenance programmes, system installations, and troubleshooting across mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems. The position requires providing technical demonstrations, application support, and risk assessments while maintaining accurate records and managing equipment and spare parts. By representing the company professionally and efficiently managing their territory, the Field Service Engineer contributes to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and the achievement of regional business objectives.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage a Southern territory; maintain systems through an organized programme and call‑outs
  • Promote the company’s products and brands
  • Organise preventative maintenance programme of all company systems on a regional basis
  • Implement effective and efficient time management across the region to meet company goals
  • Demonstrate correct use of all systems and suggest preventative maintenance to customers
  • Project‑manage and implement Working Comfort solutions
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times
  • Provide demonstration and application support to customers and other team members
  • Conduct risk assessments and method statements for customer installations
  • Keep accurate records of machine services, movements and ensure timely receipt by the office
  • Test and commission systems prior to installation
  • Organise all stocks of machines and spare parts, and ensure adequate levels carried on vehicle
Skills & Competences
  • At least 5 years experience in field‑based engineering
  • Ideally HNC/HND in electrical engineering or equivalent, or apprentice trained
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of mechanical/pneumatic and electrical systems (single and 3‑phase)
  • Able to prioritise and handle multiple tasks, detailed orientated and able to analyse and solve problem issues
  • Able to handle all situations with discretion and sensitivity to any customer needs
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel in UK and occasionally Europe with occasional overnight stays
