Job summary

A leading children's nursery in Milton Keynes is seeking a full-time Field Based Practitioner to engage with children across various locations. Thrift Farm Day Nursery is a 96 place day nursery based on site at the award winning Thrift Farm in Whaddon, Milton Keynes. We focus on nature based play, and outdoor learning. We follow a child led curiosity approach to children’s development.

Due to continued success, we are expanding and are looking for a full time, Field Based Practitioner to join our Nursery & Pre School team. You will predominantly be based onsite at Thrift Farm Day Nursery, but this role does include (paid) travel to other settings if and when required.

This exciting role, is unique and different. You will get to work in lots of different environments, whilst still being employed on a full time position. As you are essentially covering across all sites, you will not have key person responsibilities as part of this position.

We are looking for someone who is happy to “muck in”…. From playing with the children, to helping prepare snacks, tidying areas, creating new play zones… The role is so varied, there’s no time to get bored!!

Qualifications and Skills

Whilst being flexible in regards to qualifications, we are looking for someone special… We are looking for someone with a natural passion and ability to work with children. (The one thing we can’t teach!)

You will be hard working and motivated to hit the ground running and add value to our fun and hard working teams. You will thrive in a busy environment, and always be on hand with new ideas and activities. Ideally you will have experience in a similar role working with children aged 0-5 years. You must be available full time, 40 hours per week. Our nurseries are open from 7:30am-6:30pm, so shift patterns will be between these hours.

Due to the nature of this position, and the travel between sites, a full UK driving licence and own transport is essential. As a part of the package for the successful candidates, we will offer a mileage incentive and travel time is included in your working hours.
