A local support organization is looking for a Female Personal Assistant to support a young girl named Frankie in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role involves empowering Frankie to safely enjoy her local community activities and promoting her independence. Candidates should have experience working with children with developmental delays and must communicate calmly in challenging situations. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
Role: Female Personal Assistant (PA) to support a young girl named Frankie. The role focuses on helping her safely access and enjoy her local community while promoting her independence.
School holidays: 8 hours (to be agreed with employer)
Rate of Pay: £14.50 per hour
Frankie is an almost 12-year-old girl with a bright, happy personality. She is very friendly, loves to stay active, and enjoys being outdoors. Her favourite activities include:
Frankie has Global Developmental Delay and experiences emotional and attachment challenges. She may become dysregulated, especially during school periods or in busy environments. She requires support in recognising when to take a break from overstimulating situations. Although she communicates well and follows instructions, she has no sense of danger, so safety awareness is crucial. Frankie can form attachments quickly and may be blunt in her communication, so a calm and professional PA is essential.
Occupational requirement There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
Safeguarding and DBS An enhanced DBS will be required for this role and any offer of employment will be conditional upon satisfactory references and DBS.
Work eligibility At the time of starting employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
