An educational organization in the United Kingdom is seeking experienced governors with senior educational leadership experience to support their educational initiatives. Ideal candidates will come from headteacher or principal backgrounds, bringing strong curriculum expertise and the potential to take on roles such as the Safeguarding Link Governor. This position offers a chance to make a significant impact in education across Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
Governor with Senior Educational Leadership Experience
Warwickshire College Group (WCG) is one of the UK’s leading Further Education providers, operating across five campuses in Royal Leamington Spa, Warwick, Rugby, Moreton Morrell and Pershore. With a turnover of £48 million, the Group delivers a wide range of 16–19 programmes, apprenticeships, adult learning and higher education to around 13,000 students each year. WCG is nationally recognised for quality, holds both Bachelor’s and Foundation Degree Awarding Powers, and trains over 2,000 apprentices annually through strong employer partnerships.
WCG is an inclusive organisation, supporting a diverse community including significant numbers of SEND learners, international students and around 500 HE students. A refreshed senior leadership team and a collaborative board offer incoming governors the opportunity to make an immediate impact.
WCG now seeks three skilled governors to support delivery of this plan:
An experienced estates or commercial property professional to oversee delivery of the estates strategy, including major projects such as a campus disposal. Financial acumen and prior non-executive or committee experience are desirable. This role may act as a potential successor to the Chair of Resources (term ends 2026).
An experienced former headteacher, deputy headteacher, principal or deputy principal with strong curriculum and teaching and learning expertise. Experience with 14–16 provision is advantageous. The successful candidate would be well placed to become Safeguarding Link Governor in 2026.
An individual with expertise in audit, risk, compliance or finance to provide independent scrutiny across governance and assurance. Relevant backgrounds include accountancy, audit, risk management, governance or compliance at mid-to-senior leadership level.
If you are passionate about education and supporting learners across Warwickshire and Worcestershire, WCG would welcome your interest.
Candidates will be asked to submit a CV as part of the application process.
