Job description

Bindmans LLP is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Children Law Solicitor to join our Central London office. Reporting to the Head of the Family Department.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience in childcare and public law children matters is highly desirable.
  • Accreditation as a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel (or currently working towards it) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong advocacy and case management skills, with the ability to handle complex and sensitive matters effectively.
  • Experience representing parents, carers, and children (where applicable) in care proceedings.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proven ability to manage a varied caseload of public and private law children matters independently.
  • Experience or a demonstrable interest in child abduction and modern family law work is desirable.
  • Confident in case preparation and conducting advocacy where appropriate.
  • A proactive approach to business development, ideally with established connections and referral sources in the local area.
  • Experience in cross-border child abduction matters and membership of the International Child Abduction and Contact Unit (ICACU) (desirable).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Legal Aid regulations and procedures (essential).
  • Strong client care skills and a proactive, collaborative working style.
  • Commitment to high professional standards and team development.
