Job description

A Staffordshire based food manufacturing company is looking to recruit a Facilities Technician / Engineer for their production facility in Lichfield. The role mainly supports the water treatment plant, infrastructure and grounds.

This active role involves manual handling, working at height, and more. You'll manage the operation of the plant to ensure the site remains fully compliant and record keeping of daily testing is critical. A driving licence is essential for operating a yard tractor on site.

Role

• General repairs and maintenance on water treatment plant and other areas.
• Panama shift (rotating) – Days / Afternoons (no nights).
• Days: 05:30am - 16:00pm.
• Afternoons: 12:00pm - 22:30pm.
• Opportunity to work in a modern food manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete regular checks of the plant and water systems – hourly / daily / weekly.
• Checks on cooling towers – sampling, replenishment of chemicals, escalation procedures for failures.
• General maintenance and DIY tasks.
• Maintain site trailers roadworthy.
• Complete all necessary PPM's.
• Advise management of any problems affecting the water treatment plant immediately to minimise operational downtime.

Experience and Skills Required

• Ideally, related qualifications around water treatment and/or maintenance.
• Knowledge of a water treatment plant, preferably in a food production environment.
• Ability or confidence to operate a yard tractor and trailer unit.
• Observation and recording skills – high level of attention to detail.
• Legionella and confined space awareness highly desirable.
