CHC is a joint venture between Costain and Jacobs and holds the Area 14 M&R contract until July 2028 with National Highways.
CHC provides maintenance and response services for the Strategic Road Network in Area 14, covering motorways and trunk roads in Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, and North Yorkshire.
The area is set to expand with the addition of new road sections: the A69 trunk road in 2026, followed by the A19 along with other associated trunk roads in 2027.
