A community-focused heritage organization in Cornwall is seeking a part-time Executive Manager to provide strategic oversight and support for its unique heritage site. The role involves 12 hours per week of flexible working, including evenings and weekends as needed, focusing on guidance for financial planning, governance, and effective communication. Ideal candidates will possess strong leadership skills and experience in community-focused organizations. Training will be provided to ensure readiness for the role.
Maker Heights is a unique heritage landscape in southeast Cornwall, home to studios, community organisations, visitor spaces, and a seasonal campsite. Maker Heights Ltd (MHL), the trading subsidiary of the Rame Conservation Trust, is responsible for the day-to-day running of the site and supporting the many people who use it.
Maker Heights Ltd. is looking for a part‑time Executive Manager to help guide and support our unique heritage site in southeast Cornwall.
This part‑time role provides strategic oversight and organisational coordination for MHL. The Executive Manager supports Directors, staff, and tenants by guiding financial planning, maintaining essential governance processes, and ensuring effective communication across the site.
Rather than managing daily operations directly, the role focuses on leadership, planning, compliance oversight, and people support within limited (but flexible) weekly hours.
This role requires flexibility to work around the operational needs of Maker Heights and the wider Trust. While there is no set pattern of hours per week, the role will include some evening and weekend work to align with key stakeholder meetings, events at Maker, and community activities. You will have access to a workspace at Maker Heights when needed, with the flexibility to complete much of your work from home. The workload varies seasonally, reflecting the site's busier periods during camping season and event programming. Full training will be provided for all MHL‑specific systems and policies to ensure you are well‑equipped for the role from the start.
