A leading automotive manufacturer in Wolverhampton is seeking an EV Welding Technician to operate and maintain welding stations while troubleshooting quality issues. The ideal candidate will possess experience in GMAW, GTAW, and MMA welding, and the ability to weld in 3G positions. A weld approval test certificate and a relevant Level 3 qualification are essential. Job description

JOB TITLE: EV Welding Technician

SALARY: £47,344

LOCATION: Wolverhampton EPMC

WHAT TO EXPECT
  • Safely operate, troubleshoot and maintain welding stations and equipment for all rework purposes
  • Serve as a go‑to‑person for understanding and rectifying quality issues with the process/product engaging with Engineering for solutions
  • Support Engineering with the development of welding procedures and associated documentation
  • Learn, understand and follow JLR requirements for employee safety, product quality and productivity
  • Perform visual inspections and provide periodic weld samples to comply with the Internal Quality Standards and legislation
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • Experience and qualified in manual welding GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG) and MMA is a must
  • Ability to weld comfortably in 3G (PF) positions
  • Significant experience working with in a manufacturing metal‑working aluminium environment
  • Weld Approval Test Certificate
  • A Relevant Level 3 NVQ/BTEC/City and Guilds
