Job summary

A governmental rescue service in Godmanchester is seeking a part-time Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Co‑ordinator to lead inclusive practices, implement the EDI strategy, and develop training programs. The suitable candidate will have significant experience in human resources and EDI, combined with knowledge of relevant legislation. This hybrid role allows for a flexible working pattern. Qualifications

  • Significant practical human resources and/or equality, diversity & inclusion experience.
  • Experience of providing advice on equality, diversity issues & inclusion at all levels.
  • Exposure to training needs analysis and training delivery.
  • Experience of facilitation for engagement.
  • Understanding and experience of managing cultural change.
  • Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating policies.
  • Knowledge of relevant equality legislation and regulations.
  • Understanding of social inclusion and cultural awareness issues.
  • Knowledge of equality, diversity & inclusion issues in the public sector.
  • Proven research, analysis and report presentation skills.

About the Role

Being part of Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) is more than fighting fires – it’s about making a difference through innovation and collaboration. In this role you will champion inclusive practices across the organisation, coordinate the delivery of our EDI Strategy, raise awareness of key initiatives, embed a culture of inclusion, lead Employee Inclusion Networks, guide teams through Equality Impact Assessments (EQIAs), develop engaging EDI training for managers and employees, monitor and report on progress, provide expert advice on inclusive practices, maintain EDI information on our intranet, and contribute to inclusive policy development.

Salary: £37,280 – £39,152 per annum (pro rata)

Hours: 24 hours per week

Contract: Fixed Term (Two Years)

Location: Service Headquarters, Huntingdon

Working pattern: Hybrid – flexible, agile pattern that allows work from home or at CFRS and other locations around Cambridgeshire.

About You
  • Significant practical human resources and/or equality, diversity & inclusion experience.
  • Experience of providing advice on equality, diversity issues & inclusion at all levels.
  • Exposure to training needs analysis and training delivery to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience of facilitation as an engagement and delivery style.
  • Understanding and experience of managing and bringing about cultural change.
  • Experience of developing, implementing and evaluating policies, procedures and action plans.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of relevant equality legislation, codes of practice, regulations and case law.
  • Understanding of wider equality, diversity & inclusion issues such as social inclusion and cultural awareness.
  • Knowledge of the equality, diversity & inclusion issues currently impacting the public sector in general, and the Fire and Rescue sector in particular.
  • Proven research, analysis and report presentation skills.
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development.
  • An innovative thinker with the ability to be creative.
