Reporting to the OpEx Manager, the EHS Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring full legal compliance, driving environmental initiatives, and embedding a strong EHS culture across the site. You'll work closely with operational teams to deliver practical, compliant, and value-adding EHS solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all EHS legislation, standards, and internal procedures
- Maintain and manage EHS systems in line with ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to ensure safe operation of plant and equipment
- Develop EHS business plans and action plans using performance data and industry best practice
- Lead and support environmental initiatives, including Zero Waste to Landfill and Net Zero programmes
- Support incident, near-miss reporting and investigations, ensuring learning is communicated effectively
- Develop and promote a continual improvement and behavioural safety culture
- Support training, communication, and engagement activities across the workforce
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety processes including SSOW, Permit to Work, and Control of Contractors
- Provide technical EHS support to production and staff areas
- Maintain budgetary control and provide administrative support as required
- Contribute to wider corporate EHS strategy and initiatives

You’ll be a proactive and confident Environmental, Health and Safety professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys working closely with operational teams.
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of EHS legislation and compliance frameworks
- Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and investigations
- Ability to influence, coach, and engage stakeholders at all levels
- Exposure to environmental improvement programmes and sustainability initiatives

Working Hours
This role is based on a 37-hour working week:
- Monday & Wednesday: 07:45 - 16:30 (8 hours 15 minutes)
- Tuesday & Thursday: 07:45 - 16:00 (7 hours 45 minutes)
- Friday: 07:45 - 12:45 (5 hours)
- 27 days of annual leave plus 8 public holidays
