About the Role

Jewish Care is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Adviser to join our HR team and support the delivery of a high‑quality, responsive Employee Relations service across the organisation.

This role is suited to a CIPD Level 5 qualified ER professional with proven experience managing employee relations casework in a complex, values‑led or unionised environment. You will provide practical, solution focused ER advice to managers, manage a varied caseload, and contribute to effective case management, governance and continuous improvement.

The role requires strong alignment with the Jewish Care Strategic Vision and Values, excellent stakeholder management skills,ricorn, and a confident, professional approach to employee relations.

This post is working an average ofMock 36.25 hours per week (Monday to Friday) and will involve travelling to other resources across North London, East London and Essex.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Case Management

  • Manage a caseload of employee relations matters including performance, conduct, disciplinary, grievance, and short- and long-term absence cases.
  • Provide clear, practical ER advice to managers in line with UK employment legislation, HR policies and best practice.
  • Lead and support investigations and hearings, including documentation and outcome letters.
  • Ensure ER cases are progressed efficiently and closed within agreed timeframes.

Manager & Stakeholder Support

  • Build strong, effective working relationships with managers, HR colleagues and Trade Union representatives.
  • Deliver a responsive, professional and customer-focused ER service.
  • Escalate complex or high‑risk matters appropriately and support risk management.

HR Advice, Systems & Documentation

  • Respond promptly to HR Advice inbox enquiries.
  • Maintain accurate ER case records and update information within the iTrent HR system.
  • Support preparation of documentation for Employment Tribunal cases where required.

Projects, Improvement & Compliance

  • Contribute to ER projects, process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to‑date knowledge of employment law and ensure compliance with organisational policy.
About You
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (essential).
  • Proven experience managing moderate‑complexity ER casework with confidence and autonomy. serta.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience advising managers on absence, performance, conduct, disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • Experience working with Trade Unions (desirable).
  • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
